Felixstowe BID is pleased to be supporting a children’s book hunt taking place in the town centre and seafront this half term.

The initiative is the brainchild of Shannon Doherty and her company Gracie’s Gorgeous Books.

She said: “I am very passionate about putting books into children’s hands to help them to read more.

“To encourage children to keep picking books up at the weekends and February school holiday I will be running a Book Treasure Hunt within the Felixstowe community. It’s a fun way to get children out in the fresh air and getting a bit of exercise too!”

Shannon will be hiding books in and around Felixstowe for the children to find, and clues will be given out on social media. The child who finds the book, takes it home to read and then re-hides it.

Felixstowe BID has sponsored 100 books for the hunt and will promote the initiative through the Visit felixstowe website and social media platforms.
